Pupils are expected to come to school neatly and correctly dressed at all times. The correct school uniform must be worn when travelling to and from school and when attending formal school functions. Grade R pupils are not required to wear a school uniform. The official uniform to be worn by pupils attending Sweet Valley Primary School is set out below. No departure in style, manufacture or type of material used is permissible. It is recommended that the Sweet Valley peaked cap or hat - available from the Secondhand Clothing Shop - be worn by all learners during break times and for sports practices and matches.
GIRLS SUMMER UNIFORM (GRADES 1 TO 7)
- Checked dress - as supplied by the official stockist. The dress should be approximately knee length.
- Maroon or white panties.
- Plain white ankle socks and brown shoes - lace up, bar or baby doll type. Any deviation for a valid reason is to be discussed with the Headmaster.
- Maroon V-neck pullover with monogram on the pocket (when needed).
- Please note that the navy fleece top may NOT be worn with the girls' summer dress.
GIRLS WINTER UNIFORM (GRADES 1 TO 3)
- Maroon quantech trackpants as supplied by the official stockist.
- New maroon Phys Ed sport shirt - available from the Secondhand Clothing Shop. The old white Phys Ed sport shirt may be worn until December 2013.
- Navy fleece top with maroon inset in collar, school badge and slits in sides - available from the Secondhand Clothing Shop. Must be worn with the tracksuit pants.
- Socks and brown shoes as for summer.
- Maroon V-neck pullover may be worn as an optional extra to provide extra warmth, if needed.
GIRLS WINTER UNIFORM (GRADES 4 TO 7)
- Fawn long pants with fawn monogram - as supplied by the official stockist.
- White long sleeved shirt with white badge and darts - as supplied by the official stockist.
- Maroon V-neck pullover with monogram on the pocket - as supplied by the official stockist.
- White socks and brown shoes as for summer.
- Navy fleece top with maroon inset in collar, school badge and slits in sides - as supplied by the Secondhand Clothing Shop - may be
worn to provide extra warmth, if needed.
- NB. No scarves, gloves or beanies are allowed.

- Fawn shorts with fawn monogram - as supplied by the official stockist. Brown leather belts may be worn.
- White short-sleeved shirt with monogram on pocket - as supplied by the official stockist.
- Plain knee-length, fawn socks - as supplied by the official stockist.
- Brown lace-up shoes.
- Maroon V-neck pullover with monogram on the pocket as supplied by the official stockist (when needed).
BOYS WINTER UNIFORM (GRADES 1 TO 3)
- Maroon quantech trackpants as supplied by the official stockist.

provide extra warmth, if needed.

In rainy weather, pupils should wear either a raincoat (safety orange or navy blue) or a drimac (maroon or white) over their school uniform. This must be taken off once at school. Where gumboots are worn to and from school, pupils must bring school shoes to be worn in the classrooms.
UNIFORM FOR SWIMMING DURING THE SCHOOL DAY - PHYS ED LESSONS (BOYS AND GIRLS)
- Official Sweet Valley swimming costume - as supplied by the Secondhand Clothing Shop.
- White swimming cap.
GIRLS PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GRADES 1 TO 3)
NB. This uniform is to be worn to school on the 2 days each week when the pupils have physical education. (You will be advised of these two specific days, which vary according to each grade / class).
- Maroon Sweet Valley sports shirt and skorts - as supplied by the Secondhand Clothing Shop.
- Clean white takkies.
- Maroon V-neck pullover with monogram on the pocket (optional, when needed for extra warmth, summer or winter).
- Navy fleece top with maroon inset in collar, school badge and slits in sides - as supplied by the Secondhand Clothing Shop (winter only).
- The old white Phys Ed sports shirt and maroon quantech shorts may also be worn until December 2013.
